Writing has always been my great escape and passion. Explore my distinct worlds below or visit the About Page.

Welcome to cookiecreation.com! I’m Bobette Bryan, and whether you know me from my early internet days, my viral poetry, or you are discovering my storytelling for the very first time, I am so glad you’re here. Today, my writing passion spans three distinct worlds, and I cannot wait to share them all with you.

🔍 Mystery Writing as Joy Taylor
I chose this pen name to honor my mother, Joy. The surname is a nod to my relative Elizabeth Taylor—whom my aunt Bonnie strongly resembled!

I’ve written twelve mystery novels and will soon be publishing the very first one.

The Nightingale Mystery (Book One)
In the suffocating shadows of Kent’s Livingston Hall, a theatrical murder shocks the estate. It’s England, 1926, and investigator Edward Thorn is summoned into the eye of a terrible storm to piece together a deadly puzzle. But Edward is a man fighting his own ghosts. Still reeling from the tragic loss of his mother and haunted by violent flashbacks of the Great War, Thorn must navigate a house full of secrets to unmask a killer. Evocative and deeply suspenseful, this historical mystery will captivate fans of The Woman in White and Rebecca.

🌸 Historical Romance Writing as Bobette Bryan My debut novel, Painter of Dreams, is the first book in my North Star Series, which is an is an erotically charged romance saga about bold man with the courage to defy convention and pioneer a transatlantic steamship line—and the greater dream they find in the women they love.

This summer I rewrote Painter of Dreams to bring it up to date. I will soon upload the new version of the novel.

⚓ Painter of Dreams is available right now on Amazon.

I also wrote the 4th book in the North Star series, Aaron Hawthorn’s story. I’ll soon tackle the drafts of the second and third book, which revolves around North Star’s investors, the Devlin brothers. Spending my summer peeking back into the lives of these characters filled my days with so much joy; they’re part of my heart and soul, my earliest writing passion.

🥀 Horror & Supernatural Writing as Rose Blackwood.

No deep backstory for this pen name—I just absolutely love the classic Gothic vibe. This fall and winter, I am releasing a deeply personal, supernatural account of a real-world haunted house that my family and I lived in for many years.

Alongside this true account, I’ll also be releasing my five-book horror series under the Blackwood name.

Thank you for being part of my journey. I will announce all of my upcoming book releases, launch dates, and Amazon links right here on this site and at BobetteBryan.com.

Stay tuned—the best stories are yet to come!

With love,
Bobette Bryan
