"Broken Hearted" by Bobette Bryan (C) 2006
I decided to share some of my 3D digital artwork here. This is a conceptual image of someone with a broken heart. Some would think that this woman has a broken heart over a lost love, but that isn't the only thing that can leave one in utter despair. I wasn't broken hearted when I created this image, but I was three years ago when I lost my beautiful home, all of my money, and much more when the company I'd worked for for many years breeched their contract with me and broke many promises. I'm still trying to recover from that nightmare...not only financially but also emotionally, and sometimes the pain of the loss returns. Perhaps it always will...
I've dealt with it all by taking up 3D digital art in 2005, which resulted in my starting a graphics business at ButterflyWebGraphics.com, and I'm still growing in this field of art. I'm so thankful for it, and for the caring folks in the 3D communities. I've never met more giving artists in my life.
A company in Britain liked my work and wanted me to design t-shirts with this dark type of art over the course of the next three years, but they wanted the full rights to my work, and so I declined. I've been there and done that, and it's not a good thing for the artist. I'm never going to sell the full rights to my work again. Besides, I didn't want to get tied to another long-term contract. It's great creating material exclusively for my own business.
